A Beautiful Fall!

Last Tuesday, September 22, 2020, began the fall season. In Michigan we are having gorgeous weather and the colors of the leaves are just starting to show. The cool night air has been refreshing compared to the summer’s hot and humid days, especially when there are so many crazy and insane things happening in our country and around the world. Due to nature’s changes, I love breathing in the blessings of Creator God knowing He is in control. Beautiful things are still taking place, and I would like to share a couple with you.

First, this past Wednesday my son JJ was in our neighbor Ryan’s wedding. JJ and Ryan grew up together, swimming in our pool, shooting a basketball, and playing computer games, etc. JJ felt honored to stand up with his long time friend. However, because of COVID lockdowns, the wedding had to be outside. But honestly, it turned out better than an indoor wedding. The wooded setting for the ceremony, and the lighted tent and lawn area in the evening looked magical. The bride and groom love Jesus and their wedding reflected that love. We felt the joy and laughter of a newly married couple, and it was a wonderful escape from the realities of this world.

Second, I wanted to share that amazing experiences are happening across this country. Worship leader Sean Feucht has been holding outdoor worship events in cities that have had major rioting. Antifa, BLM, mayors, and Satanists have tried to stop him and his band. However, God has protected them, and many people are coming to Jesus and being delivered from Satan’s grasp. Below is a video posted earlier today of one of the stories of God’s deliverance, mercy, and grace. The YouTube channel is Church Videos where you can see many more accounts of what has been happening at these worship events.

The beauty in the chaos reminds me of a old song titled “Jesus Is Coming Soon” (see the first verse and chorus below). The lyrics are relevant for today reminding us to wake up. Freedoms we all hold dear now are at stake.

Troublesome times are here, filling men's hearts with fear
Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake
Humbling your hearts to God saves from the chastening rod
Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians awake

Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

However, the good news is that Jesus is already here through the Holy Spirit, but is arriving soon in the physical realm when everyone will bow to Him. “For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’” Romans 14:11 and Isaiah 45:23 He plays by the spiritual rules, and He is still King!
