Living In The Favor Of God

For the past few weeks, I’ve been reviewing the various parts of the biblical Tabernacle for a project I’m working on. At first glance, it might appear that the Tabernacle is just a boring old historical relic. However, you might be surprised at how relevant it is for today. We all want to live in the favor of God. Now we can know how to do that by following ancient spiritual truth.

That ancient spiritual truth is revealed at the Table of Showbread which was located in the Holy Place of the Tabernacle. In the video below, Dr. Terry Harman, TheTabernacleMan.com, discusses in depth about the table and the bread in part 1, and in part 2, he talks about what it means for us today. He’s a multisensory teacher and I think you will find it informative and inspiring. By the way, this video series is a great resource for homeschoolers.

Basically, God wanted the bread in the Tabernacle to remind the Israelites that He was their provider - Jehovah Jireh. He created the sun, ground, water, seeds, etc. so that humans could grow and make bread, the staple food in the ancient world. Every Sabbath the priests would exchange the seven day old bread, that was still good to eat, for the new bread. Each loaf of bread had a small portion taken from it and “given back to God” in recognition that He was the source of their food.

Today, we simply pull bread off the shelf at the grocery store and don’t think much about it. Yet, God is still the source of that bread. He continues to provide for us not just bread, but gives us ideas and ways to earn a living, that in turn generates money to buy the things we need.

So, living in the favor of God is simply giving back to Him, and gratefully acknowledging Him as the Creator. This mindset positions us to receive His favor so that we can favor others. He desires to help us with our every need. “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” Psalm 23:1 The question is, “are you positioning yourself to receive His favor?”

Jesus said, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Luke 6:38 “For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.” 2 Cor. 9:10

May you have a great harvest of generosity produced in you, so that you can live in God’s favor and be blessed to be a blessing In Jesus Name! Go forth bold, blessed, and brilliant. Subscribe and comment below.
