The King Of Oils
To prepare for another post for the Food and Garden section of my blog, I decided to reread the corresponding scripture passage for inspiration. As I read the few verses, two words jumped out at me “aromatic resin”. Genesis 2:12 says, “The gold of that land is exceptionally pure; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there.” Even though I’ve read these verses many times, and apparently skipped right over these two words, I now wondered what exactly is aromatic resin?
I had a vague idea that resin is the sap of a tree, but what exactly is aromatic resin. So, doing what I love to do, I began researching to find the answer. Well, I discovered that I was right about aromatic resin, or bdellium as some versions say, being the sap from a tree or plant. In my exploring, I learned that frankincense is an aromatic resin and the “King of Oils” due to it’s many healing benefits.
Now I wanted to know more about what those benefits were. I’ve enjoyed using and found other oils beneficial such as peppermint, lavender, and clove. However, I have not tried frankincense mostly because my local health food store didn’t carry it and I forgot about it. But after finding out more about this amazing oil, I decided to check out Amazon. They carry several varieties and I ordered one bottle to try for topical applications. See 10 benefits and 8 uses below, as well as, Dr. Axes short video.
