The Chosen Review

When I first saw this series advertised, I thought here’s another cheesy bible video. However, my daughter encouraged me to watch it and I was hooked. This first-ever crowdfunded multi-season series is so good that we began donating to “pay it forward”.

As we binge watched the first season, we laughed and cried. We identified with the characters, and loved how they portray Jesus as a real person. There’s no blue-eyed, pasty white, emaciated characters with perfect hair, but real looking middle eastern Hebrew people and sets.

As we eagerly await each episode’s premier, we continue to enjoy the humorous lines sprinkled throughout the script, and the intense moments of drama that keep us wanting more. But, what takes this series to a higher level is how it touches your heart. Many people are being blessed by this series and I hope you will take a few minutes to watch Season One and Two Official Trailers below. Even IMDb has a rating of 9.7 out of 10 for this series!!

We downloaded it to our TV so we all could watch it together with good sound. We love the music, the interesting historical fiction, and how they are true to scripture. Most of all, we love how authentic and real each character is depicted. Jesus said, “And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” John 12:32 I pray that this series will be a conduit to make that happen.
