The Warrior Pastor

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably already seen the viral video (below) of the Polish Canadian Pastor, Artur Pawlowski, chasing out the cops from his church this past Easter weekend. But, I see some very important spiritual points that I would like to highlight and share with you. This Pastor demonstrates what it takes sometimes to defeat evil, and this incident reminded me of Jesus driving out the moneychangers in the Temple.

The first time I watched this video I got goosebumps, and my spirit shouted YES when I saw it! Hallelujah a pastor is standing up to tyranny and saying NO! I think we need more church leaders like this man. Sometimes, it takes this much tenacity and passion to cast out evil, but I don’t think Christians as a whole really understand this reality. Pastor Artur does know because he grew up in communist Poland. (Watch the second video below for more of his story.)

Many grew up thinking that Jesus was/is this meek and mild man not realizing that He was also a warrior, and is coming back as a warrior on a white horse (read last post here). Jesus cast out the money changers with a whip from His church/temple. You can read about it in Matthew 21:12-13,Mark 11:15-18 which basically says He chased out the money robbers because His Father’s house was a house of prayer, not a den of thieves. Just take a moment to imagine what that would look like, feel like, sound like, and smell like. How long did it take him to actually do that?

Now let’s bring that imagery home. Your body is the church/temple of the Holy Spirit. What Satanic thieves are you tolerating instead of driving out? Is evil stealing your joy, your peace, and your power because of your insecurities and fears? Or maybe evil has been more subtle by keeping you off balance due to being distracted by good and important things? News flash: good things can still be idols if we’re not flowing with the focused power of the Holy Spirit! I know this because it’s a growing daily discipline I’ve been working on myself for many years, and sometimes I’ve had to get angry at the satanic thieves and chase them out!

Maybe it’s time to get passionately and righteously angry, and throw out evil from your body church/temple. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 From my experience, it’s not a one and done type of occurrence. We must continually put on the armor of God Eph 6:10-20. On Earth, we are in a war, and even though we don’t like it, we must fight evil. Evil will do all it can to destroy us, but we’ve already won! Jesus is King because He rose from the dead!! I hope you were revived and blessed as I was while celebrating this truth this past Resurrection weekend!

In conclusion, you may be wondering how did we get to this reality of what we’re facing today like this Pastor? I think this famous quote sums it up. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke. Jesus said, “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16 “…the godly are as bold as lions.” Proverbs 28:1 I think Pastor Artur demonstrated these verses. Do you agree? Comment below.

May you be bold and do something today to defeat evil in your life. May you not only believe in freedom, but have the courage to live free as well. You may pay a price, many have. Jesus paid the ultimate price and died on a cruel cross. But, may you also know the victory and freedom of a resurrected Jesus, so that you will live blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name!
