Do You Really Know God?

Before getting into our topic for today, I would like to share a couple of updates. First, yesterday in the USA was Veterans Day. Thank you to all who stood up for freedom and sacrificed in ways we may never understand. We honor you and salute you.

Secondly, we had a wonderful time at our Five Pines Event last Sabbath evening. The Lord blessed us with perfect weather and we enjoyed a beautiful fall evening of fellowship, food, and fun. Thank you to our Five Pines host Joel, and blessings to all of you who were able to come! We’re looking forward to seeing you again in the future.

Now on to today’s post. As I listen to the news of the day around the world, my heart goes out to so many who are suffering under oppressive governments and employers. My challenges pale in comparison and I feel grateful for the blessings I have experienced during these troublesome times. Yet during the difficult situations, we have an opportunity to know God in a way that gives us hope and life eternal.

My experience has been that each one of the Godhead has a different voice and unique characteristics. When we take the time to better understand the Godhead through our five senses, we can feel relief, encouragement, and joy. To start your exploration, look at the Godhead in the context of the nuclear family.

FATHER GOD - “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 Father God is the one who loves us through the suffering. ““Abba, Father,” he [Jesus] cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Mark 14:36 Life can be hell sometimes, but the same cup of suffering is also the cup of victory and glory. Why? Because “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

JESUS OUR BROTHER - “So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.  12 For he said to God, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” Hebrew 2:11, 12 Jesus is the one who stands beside us. “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.” Psalm 23:4a He is our cheerleader and defender in the courts of heaven, and in the spirit realm.

HOLY SPIRIT OUR COMFORTER - Holy Spirit is like a mother who comforts us in our troubles and tells us what we need to hear. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26 His guidance and presence is like a force field around us. “Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:4b

There is so much more I could say about the Godhead. They sound, feel, smell, taste, and look different. Yet, the way they work together is beyond earthly understanding. Just know that when life is hellish, take the time to explore the presence of God and experience His supernatural peace in a new way.

May you really know God because, “Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.” John 17:3 This experiential knowledge will bless you so you can bless others In Jesus Name! Go forth bold, blessed, and brilliant! Thank you for sharing, subscribing, and commenting below.
