Heroes

Monday, May 25, 2020, is officially the 49th year America has celebrated Memorial Day. It originated during the years after the Civil War, but declared a Federal holiday in 1971 (read more here). It’s important to remember and celebrate these heroes who sacrificed for our freedoms, and to honor the One and only hero who died the second death so we could have a choice to live free in our souls.

The short PragerU video below, movingly portrays The Fallen Soldier throughout US history. Unfortunately, many have sacrificed so much. It seems like such a needless waste. Hate and greedy power grabs by corrupt leaders (seen and unseen) have continually kept many countries at war for centuries. Yet, I’m very grateful for the heroes who were willing to protect our country. I hope you salute them everyday by living a life that respects and honors their offering.

More importantly, I’m grateful to God for making the supreme sacrifice on the cross, that provided us the opportunity and the freedom to choose for eternity. “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.” John 3:16-18

While celebrating this Memorial Day, may you take a moment to remember and honor the heroes who have died so we could live free. Freedom should be a cherished gift, that when we embrace it, we will be blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name! Go forth bold, blessed, and brilliant! Subscribe and comment below.
