Happy Valentine's Day 2020!

American Postcards of Animals For Valentine's Day From the 1930s and 1940s (5).jpg

This past December, Breaking Christian News reported a story that I knew would be perfect for today’s Valentine’s Day post! It is an amazing testament to the longevity of love and marriage. Whether you are single, married, or somewhere in between, I hope that this Valentine’s Day you will feel the love of Father God deep inside your soul. Enjoy the pictures of a couple of 1930’s Valentine’s cards, and be inspired by the enduring marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Henderson (pictured below).

John, who is now 106 years old, and Charlotte, who is 105 years old, were married way back in Dec. 22, 1939, about three months after WWII began. Dec. 22, 2019 was their 80th anniversary, and they were presented with a Guinness World Record for the oldest married couple. They celebrated their special milestone event at Longhorn Village, a senior living community in Austin, TX. The local TV station KXAN reported the story and you can see more pictures and read more of the story on KXAN’s website (click here).

The union of John and Charlotte reminds me of the Genesis 2 account of the first marriage in the Garden of Eden. In this chapter, not only did God declare the seventh day Sabbath as holy, he also created and established the institution of marriage between a man and a woman, where the “two are united into one.” Genesis 2:24 These two foundational truths, loving God and loving each other, are the bedrock institutions to a healthy and happy family, which in turn establishes a prosperous society.

On this Valentine’s Day, may you experience the depth of love from God and from an old friend, so that you will feel blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name! Go forth bold, blessed and brilliant! Subscribe and comment below.
