Celebration Sabbath!

While researching last week’s post, “My Faith Votes”, I came across “Freedom Sunday”, which was a day of celebrating pastors and leaders that had been persecuted for their beliefs by tyrannical government leaders. My husband Bill and I discussed the name “Freedom Sunday”, and playing off that name, Bill thought it would be cool to have a special “Celebration Sabbath”, a day to promote freedom from spiritual tyranny and persecution.

Many years ago, we used to hold “High Sabbaths” where we would sing, worship, eat, dance, fellowship, and share. They were fun and inspiring and we all had a wonderful experience. However, as time has passed, especially this year, society has become more volatile, and our rights have been taken away more and more. We’ve discerned that there is a need to be even more intentional to celebrate the freedom of the Sabbath while we still can.

Satan hates those who uphold Judean/Christian values. But, he hates even more those who honor the Creation Sabbath (see my “Charmed By Darkness” post) because it’s the day God declared holy. “And Go blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.” Gen 2:3 I believe this is part of the reason why Israel and the Jewish people have been so persecuted throughout history.

Unfortunately, many Sabbatarians have fallen into the ditches. On the one hand, some make Sabbath a day of strict rules and don’ts. On the other hand, some view Sabbath as any day of the week, and in turn don’t really keep it. They say every day’s a sabbath. But is every day a holiday? No. The definition of holiday is “a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done.” If we feasted everyday and didn’t work, we would end up fat and broke!!

My point being, that God set up this day to be an oasis in time every week to enjoy the blessings of the Sabbath. It is a special day to “holiday” with Him. “And He [Jesus] said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27-28

So, plan for a special “Celebration Sabbath” (like a Christmas or Thanksgiving) where you “holiday” with God, feasting on the freedom and joy that Sabbath brings. As you do, I guarantee you will be blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name! Go forth bold, blessed, brilliant, and favored! Subscribe and comment below!
