My Faith Votes

This past Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, an email came in my inbox with the subject line “Freedom Sunday” from PrayVoteStand.org. As a Creation Sabbath keeper, this title perked my interest. What is “Freedom Sunday”? Following 1 Thess 5:20-22 I ventured forward. “Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.”

As I watched the two hour video (click here), I was pleasantly surprised and inspired by those who shared their stories of how the lockdowns have affected their churches and lives. These men of varying denominations, ethnicities, and backgrounds demonstrated courage in the face of tyrannical government leaders. I pray that more church strongmen will arise to be the Jehus that defeat the Jezebelic and Luciferian spirits, the predominate principalities that have been controlling the minds of many leaders and people for decades in the USA and around the world.

This is why it is so important to vote the best leaders we can, from the President right down to the local “dog catcher”. To exercise our faith, we must stand up and vote for leaders that support biblical values. “So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” James 2:17 As I quoted before, Dr. Lance Wallnau says, “you can be having a worship service in the back of the airplane, but if a Jihadist is piloting the plane, you’re going down!” So, be a wise and faithful Christian that puts faith into action by standing and voting for freedom. Also, “Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” 1 Tim 2:2

Looking for a thumbnail picture for this post, I came across the My Faith Votes website. I discovered that Dr. Ben Carson was the Founding Chairman of this organization before he became HUD Secretary. This intrigued me because Dr. Carson is a Creation Sabbath keeper. I know that because my late parents knew him and his wife Candy several years ago, long before my parents passed away. He also writes about his life story in his book and movie “Gifted Hands”, both of which I highly recommend, but I digress.

The latest article on the My Faith Votes website titled, “Should Christians Be Involved In Politics?”, had this insightful quote from Dr. Carson.

In his book One Vote, Dr. Ben Carson said, “Separation of church and state does not mean that you must remove your faith from your public life and your voting decisions. Freedom of religion means you are free to speak about and live according to your faith without threats from the government.” (One Vote, by Ben Carson, MD, Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. Carol Stream, Illinois, 2014, pages 57-58.)

In the current PC (politically correct) climate, it has been challenging at times to share ones religious and political views. I’m all for respecting other’s opinions, but I should also be respected for my opinions as well. However, the darkness doesn’t like the light of truth and will do all it can to extinguish it. But, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5
