God's Favor Continues!

Thursday evening, May 24, 2018 at the Kalamazoo Inst. of Arts in Kalamazoo, MI, my daughter Heather received Third Place in the West Michigan Area Show. She submitted four of her twenty piece series titled "A Stupid Brilliance - My Journey Overcoming Dyslexia".  Of the 568 submissions to the show, 100 were accepted into the exhibit.  The WMAS exhibition will be open throughout the summer till September 2, 2018. 

Of all the awards given, Heather's entry was the only submission that was digital print photography.  This amazed us as the juror, Dawoud Bey, is a Professor of Photography in Chicago. The picture below shows Heather standing next to her first photography teacher, Mary Whalen, who is the Photography and Digital Media Department Chair, Photography Instructor at the KIA.  Thanks Mary for inspiring Heather and being the catalyst for Heather to pursue a career in photography.  Heather, we are so proud of you!  Congratulations as God favors you to inspire and bless others!
