Christianity Brings Unity to Headhunters

Recently GodTV posted this story that National Geographic published a couple of years ago. I was touched by the story because it reminded me of when my mother use to read us mission stories. In addition, the story inspired me to ponder the question, “What if the modern day verbal headhunters could find Jesus?” Could we actually have what the headhunters found - peace and unity with their tribal neighbors?

In the video below at minute 2:01, one of the headhunters summed it up beautifully. He said, “It seemed like a good idea to keep the peace rather than kill each other.” The concept is so fundamental, but so profoundly true. I like how they retained who they were and kept the good traditions, but got rid of the bad ones like killing the neighbors. What great advice!

During this Christmas season, may you find the peace and unity that Jesus brought to this earth as a babe, so that headhunters could be changed and live good and happy lives. Come to think of it, isn’t that one of the wonderful side affects of being a follower of Jesus? Paul wrote in Phil 4:7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’

Today, may you find that peace and unity as you fix your heart and mind on Jesus, so that you will be blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name.
