"A Stupid Brilliance" Exhibiting Now
For those of you in the SW Michigan area, we are excited to announce the full exhibition (all 20 photographs) of “A Stupid Brilliance” by my daughter Heather Briggs. It is showing now until March 14, 2019, at the Richland Community Library, Richland, Michigan. Click on the image below for more info.
On Tues., Feb. 12, 2019 is the Artist Reception from 5-7 pm. At 5:30 pm Heather has been invited to briefly share her story and talk about her work. It is a free event, and children with learning challenges and their parents are especially invited to come and ask questions.
Heather Briggs is a photographer from Kalamazoo Michigan. In 2017, she graduated magna cum laude from Andrews University with a BFA in Photography. At the age of ten, Heather was assessed with severe dyslexia. She couldn’t read “a”, “and”, or “the”, but graduated college with high honors. Through her photography, Heather inspires others who have learning disabilities to overcome their weaknesses through their strengths.
This is a journey both Heather and I took together. There were many ups and downs, but in the end a powerful testimony of God’s blessing. We praise Him for His leading and answering our prayers. Everyday we prayed 2 Tim 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Come join us for this event. May you praise God today for power, love, and a sound mind, so that you will be blessed and be a blessing In Jesus Name!
