I Can Only Imagine Movie Review
Last weekend we went to see the movie "I Can Only Imagine". It was just released March 16, 2018. We rarely go to the theater because the movies are usually demonic or left wing propaganda. However, we do like to support faith based films and went to see this one. My family really loved this one! Two thumbs up!
When this multi platinum song first came out in 1999, my husband Bill and I were still singing duets and we made this song into a duet. We even sang it for a wedding, which we thought was pretty cool! So because we had performed it several times and loved the song, we wanted to see the movie all the more.
We hoped it would not be preachy and kind of cheesy like some faith based films are portrayed. We were not disappointed! This one had a good balance of God's transforming power and a good story line, based on the true story of Bart Millard, the lead singer for MercyMe (below). The directors of this movie were the same as Mom's Night Out, which is another great movie with a hilarious story line. We loved that movie so much we bought the DVD!
Just make sure you have some tissues with you if you go. There are some sad parts, but mostly the movie is just a very touching plot of God's transforming love and the power of forgiveness. If you have experienced any difficult times in your past, the song takes you to a beautiful place of healing and peace.
May you imagine yourself at the foot of the throne of God praising Him in your way. May His glory touch you with a great flow of blessing that will bless you and others In Jesus Name!
