Healing for the #Metoo Victims

The #Metoo movement became front and center with the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearings. I shared a spiritual perspective about the hearings in my last four posts. This post I wanted to focus in on the #Metoo women. Even though I have not suffered sexual abuse, my heart goes out to these women who are obviously hurting so much.

If you have suffered this kind of abuse, I’m so sorry. Yes, we live in a world filled with sin and pain, but there is good news. As Isaiah 61:1-3 says, God does comfort and heal the brokenhearted. This is why Jesus was sent and anointed as verse one states. There is hope for a beautiful life!

Breaking Christian News posted two wonderful examples of women surviving and thriving that I thought were really touching. The first story is Joyce Meyer’s testimony. You probably have heard her share before as she has been preaching for decades. But, her recent Facebook post went viral. It’s only three minutes long and extremely powerful.

The second article is about Lisa Harper. She sees herself as a “big sister” to those coming to terms with the sexual abuse they may have endured. She is a christian author and speaker and relates to the many hurting women she meets in her ministry.

As you read and listen to Joyce and Lisa’s stories, may you find beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise for despair, so that you will be blessed to be a blessing In Jesus Name!

“My father raped me at least 200 times”: Evangelist Joyce Meyer says she’s living proof recovery from sexual abuse is possible. Click here to read and watch a clip of her testimony on Facebook.

““There’s no pit so deep that He can’t reach down and lift you out of. He will set your feet on a rock. He will give you a wonderful life. He will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. He will make you a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.” - Joyce Meyer”

““What your soul’s really longing for isn’t the answers, it’s not even necessarily a punitive reckoning for the men who have been so abusive. What your soul’s longing for is presence, it’s the presence of God.” - Lisa Harper”
